Government of India gave its nod for the commercial use of IFFCO’s Nano DAP for the upcoming Kharif sowing season. The newly developed IFFCO Nano DAP will not only reduce the cost in comparison to conventional DAP but also cut down the subsidy. It is said that the one bottle of Nano DAP would cost around Rs 600.
Buoyed with the news of approval, IFFCO MD wrote on his twitter wall, “Indeed it’s a very big news of the day for the fertiliser sector as Govt approves commercial release of Nano-DAP”.
Currently, the cost of one bag of conventional DAP is Rs1,350, while the actual cost of a bag is Rs 4,000. The gap between actual cost and prices paid by the farmers is borne by the government under the fertiliser subsidy head.
Talking to Indian Cooperative correspondent one of the officials said, “At present, the trial of IFFCO Nano DAP is going in different parts of India. The plant will be set up at Paradeep, Kalol and Kandla and the production is set to be started from July this year”.
Earlier commenting on this new innovation, IFFCO MD said, “Nano DAP will strengthen the Indian economy by reducing input cost to agriculture, double the income of farmers in line with the dream & inspiration of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji.”
Readers would recall that the news of the trial of IFFCO Nano DAP spread around the corners. The farmers of Jaisalmer and Hanumangarh have participated in the Nano DAP trail.
It is said that the plant will be set up at the cost of Rs 250 crore at IFFCO’s Kalo Unit in Gujarat and it will be fully automatic. It can produce 150 half liter bottles in a minute. And from 31 July 2023, production of Nano DAP would start in this plant.
It bears recalling that IFFCO Nano Urea and IFFCO Nano DAP are next-generation fertilizers benefiting farmers and the environment. These products will be instrumental in reducing soil, air, and water pollution.
