Idle fertilser plants to be activated

The central govt is likely to make three major fertliser plants lying idle in the country operational again. These plants include Gorakhpur (UP), Barauni (Bihar) and Sindri (Jharkhand).

Sources claim, an agreement has already been hammered out between the ministry of chemicals and fertiliser and the ministry of petroleum. Minister of fertliser Anant Kumar has asked his ministry to collect all facts and figures for preparing a note for the cabinet.

Approval from the cabinet will soon be sought in this connection. Some cooperative organizations have shown their willingness to support the govt initiative in making these units operating again.
