Women capable of generating employment for others as well: Amin

On the eve of International Women’s Day falling on 8th March 2023, Gujarat State Co-operative Union, Ahmedabad organized a ” State Level Co-operative Women Seminar – 2023 ” on the theme of ” Digit All: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality ” on 3rd March 2023 at Tagore Hall, Paldi Ahmedabad.

This seminar was presided over by Ghanshyam Amin, an eminent national Cooperative Leader and Chairman of Gujarat State Co-operative Union, Ahmedabad and Co-operative Bank of India (COBI), New Delhi.

About 900 women representatives from co-operative societies from various districts of the State of Gujarat attended the seminar.

Inaugurating the seminar Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Ex Dy Chief Minister of Gujarat State Narhari Amin praised the Gujarat State Co-operative Union for organizing this seminar for the empowerment and equality of women. He said that gender equality is a must for a sustainable tomorrow especially for women’s education.

Amin further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is genuinely worried about the larger interest of women and therefore gas connections have been allocated to about 9 Crore women keeping in view the health of women. The embarrassment of women has been removed by way of constructing about 11 crore toilets, he noted.

Amin expressed his happiness at the fact that the womenfolk of rural areas run their families and give good education to their children by way of joining with Dairy and Milk Co-operatives, Amin stated.

In his presidential remarks Ghanshyam Amin, briefed about the importance of International Women’s Day falling on 8th March every year and informed about the successful women co-operative bodies working as the best platform for the economic earnings. He also underlined the crucial role of the co-operative sector in employment generation.

Amin appreciated the fact that the women by way of joining with the co-operative activities do not only gain employment for themselves but also generate employment for others.

Releasing the booklet titled “Nari Pragtina Panthe” (The Women on the Path of the Progress), Prof Dr Amiben Upadhyay, Vice Chancellor of Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar University, Ahmedabad and Chief Guest of the Seminar shed light on the Study of Women Empowerment and aspects of various academic schemes stating that women empowerment means humanitarian rights.

Many other prominent people including Ajaybhai Umat, Group Editor of Navgujarat Samay spoke on this occasion. All of them explained the significance of International Women’s Day.

Dr. Rajendra Trivedi, Executive Officer of Gujarat State Co-operative Union expressed thanks and profound gratitude to all those who were present on the occasion. The officers and employees of Gujarat State Co-operative Union put in vigorous efforts to make the event successful.
