Excerpts:

Indian Cooperative: What is your appeal, that is to ask on what basis you are seeking support from international voters in ICA elections?

Aditya Yadav: Since this decade is a cooperative decade and ICA has resolved to pursue vision 2020 i.e. participation, sustainability, identity, cooperative capital and legal frame work. Being a young cooperator, I shall pursue vision 2020 with the best of my efforts. I strongly believe in cooperative principles and feel that only cooperatives can bring desired socio-economic changes in the society across the globe.

IC: Have you been associated with any international organization ever or tell us about your international exposure

AY: I am associated with various programs of ICA & its international institutions. I have also actively contributed in ICA conference, held in Cape Town, South Africa from 1st to 5th November, 2013 for the growth & development of cooperatives.

IC: How difficult do you think winning this election is going to be for you? How did you become Iffco candidate- was it your wish or Board’s decision? Are you aware that Iffco has lost twice in recent past? How do you propose to learn from their experiences.

AY: I believe in democratic system and represent IFFCO; one of world’s biggest cooperative, which is an epitome of democracy where its consumers are the owners. I strongly believe that representing the voices of millions of farmers at global arena matters most to me. I have got the blessings of IFFCO Board and all national & state level cooperators to represent the cooperative in this election. I am certainly aware of the value of development through cooperative in international arena & its strength at Global level.

IC: You are the lone candidate from India and from the largest cooperative federation of India IFFCO. But you are also chairman of U.P. Cooperative Federation Ltd.( PCF). How many cooperators do you represent there?

AY: As a Director, IFFCO and Chairman, PCF, I represent million of Cooperators. My lone nomination to this election shows the firm determination of all the cooperators of India in my favour.

IC:  In what way would you like to appeal to Indian voters which are 25 in number? Though majority votes belong to your federation IFFCO, even one vote matters in election.

AY: I would certainly take the voices of all cooperatives & farmers of our country to global level, which will further push & strengthen the name of our fellow cooperators along with cooperative institutions across the world.

IC: And lastly, your appeal to international voters as Indian cooperative is visited by several foreign cooperators who also send their feed back to us?

AY: I wish to assure that I shall play a proactive role in ICA on behalf of all the cooperatives, not only of India, but also for the cooperative members spread across the globe.
