Who’s who land in Lucknow; fascinating co-op products on display

The three-day national conference of Sahakar Bharati in Lucknow saw the presence of who’s who of the cooperative sector on Friday when Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah came to inaugurate it at the Polytechnic ground.

Shah was accompanied by the state Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath and many others including MoS B L Verma, Santosh Gangwar and Mukut Bihari Verma.

Besides Sahakar Bharati officials, the cooperative sector was represented by many worthies including NCUI President Dileepbhai Sanghani. Shah in his speech referred to Sanghani and said a new co-op policy would be made taking inputs from him and NCUI.

Representatives from IFFCO, Amul, NCDC, Nafed and many others graced the occasion. Amul MD R S Sodhi and Chairman Ramsinh Parmar were sitting in the first row and Shah referred to them, thanking them for their contributions

IFFCO Marketing Director Yogendra Kumar was also present and could be seen getting elated when Shah named IFFCO along with some others as successful examples of the co-op model.

The Nafed Board members Vishal Singh and Ajay Rai were also present. Gujarat strongman and state co-op union Chairman as well as NCUI GC member G H Amin could also be seen mingling with cooperators on the occasion.

Though Sahakar Bharati officials such as Ramesh Vaidya, Dr Uday Joshi, Ramashankar Jaiswal and Pravin Singh Jadaun were sitting on the dais, several of its top leaders including founder member Satish Marathe, Jyotindra Mehta, Sanjay Pachpor, Satishchandra, Gurunath Janthikar, Krishna Reddy and many others could be seen managing the affairs rather silently from the audience gallery.

The Polytechnic ground got jam packed with people as soon as Amit Shah along with his entourage came to the venue. Women cooperators were seen attending the event in large numbers. There were more than 3000 participants from across states.

In his speech Uday Joshi National General Secretary said that representatives of all the important cells of Sahakar Bharati have come to the event. There are delegates from 600 districts and 27 states, he said.

The UP Chapter of Sahakar Bharati indeed deserves praise for hosting the conference successfully. Everyone is being looked after well both in terms of their stay and food. The community feast at the ground would see a surge of thousands of people at once and all will have their plates of food in no time.

The co-op products being displayed through more than 300 stalls are also a source of great attraction among delegates of different states. Thousands of them could be seen visiting one stall after the other.

The three-day conference would end on 19th. A new team of Sahakar Bharati officials will also be elected in these three days.
