West Bengal State Co-op Bank clocks Rs 224 Cr net profit in 2024–25

The West Bengal State Co-operative Bank Ltd (WBSCB) has reported a stellar financial performance for the financial year 2024–25, securing an ‘Audit Classification- A’ and registering a net profit of Rs 224.14 crore. This marks a notable rise from the Rs 186.82 crore profit recorded in FY 2023–24, underscoring the bank’s sustained growth and efficient management.

As per the audited financial results for the year ending 31st March 2025, the bank achieved an operating profit of Rs 368.98 crore. The financial strength was driven by its robust lending practices, prudent asset management, and increased operational efficiency.

During the year, the bank earned Rs 1,950.98 crore in interest, while interest expenditure stood at Rs 1,475.23 crore, resulting in a Net Interest Income (NII) of Rs 475.75 crore. Additionally, the bank earned Rs 9.44 crore as other income.

After accounting for operating expenses of Rs 116.21 crore and provisions & contingencies of Rs 144.84 crore, the bank recorded a strong profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 224.14 crore.

On the balance sheet front, the bank’s total size grew to Rs 32,294.39 crore. Deposits stood at Rs 15,551.69 crore, borrowings at Rs 14,115.16 crore, and advances reached Rs 11,659.92 crore.

The bank also maintained a solid investment portfolio of Rs 7,301.79 crore, while its other assets, including fixed assets, were valued at Rs 856.78 crore. The bank’s capital and reserves position continued to strengthen, enabling it to meet regulatory requirements comfortably.

Notably, the bank’s Net NPA reduced from 0.85 percent in 2023–24 to 0.80 percent in 2024–25, and Gross NPA declined from 4.81 percent to 4.69 percent. Its net worth also rose from Rs 933 crore to Rs 1,205 crore. The Capital to Risk-Weighted Assets Ratio (CRAR) remained strong at 27 percent.

With consistent improvements in profitability and operational performance, WBSCB continues to emerge as one of India’s leading cooperative banks and a model for others in the sector.
