Lack of shrinking infrastructure coupled with increasing assignments from co-op organizations to recruit skilled-hands for them, have forced the Pune based prestigious co-op training institute Vamnicom to go in for a physical overhaul.

Presided over by Jalaj Srivastava, Addl. Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Vamnicom plans to construct a executive training hostel with the capacity of 50 rooms and boy’s hostel in the premises of institute soon.

This was unveiled by the Director of Vamnicom Dr K.K.Tripathy (IES) to this correspondent over phone. “The plan for making officers training hostel and boys’ hostel had been unanimously passed during the building committee meeting which was held recently. The meeting was presided over by Jalaj Srivastav (IAS), Addl. Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture.

“The Building Committee passed proposal has been submitted to Shobhana K Pattanayak, Secretary dept. of Agriculture and we hope that it will soon get green light”, he said with confidence.

The estimated cost of this project is about Rs 30 crore. “Presently we are also in communication with the banks for taking loans. The existed boys’ hostel and executive training hostel condition has got dilapidated in course of time and we also propose to renovate the same”, said Tripathy.

“The poor infrastructure which cried for renovations and repair for a long time, has begun to tell on the training capacity of VAMNICOM. The number of training modules were shrinking and thus we felt the need to set-up a building committee”, said the Director.

The first meeting was held on February 2018 which approved several infrastructure projects and this was done under the guidance of the then Addl. Secretary Upma Srivastava. Vamnicom has about 100 rooms in the campus, out of which 18 rooms have been  renovated so far and remaining ones will be completed in a couple of months”, he added.

It may not be out of place to mention that Pune based cooperative management institute Vamnicom which is regarded as the best in the field in the country has a young and energetic Dr K K Tripathy, IES as the Director. Tripathy is brimming with ideas and plans to take the institution to newer heights.

Meanwhile, Govt. of Maharashtra has recognized Vamnicom as one of the recruitment agencies.  In the series the institute has done the recruitment process of agri cooperative Nafed from the start to end. The test were conducted professionally. There were 350 applications and only 38 candidates were selected in the written test. Finally, six candidates were selected, Tripathy informed.

Now, Sangli DCCBs has asked us to recruit 400 staffs that are having expertise in their respective fields. Vamnicom is charging nominal fee for this work”, Tripathy informed.

VAMNICOM is also a great seat of learning for agribusiness management having more than 15 years of vintage and 100% placement record.
