Vamnicom holds conference on soil health, Secretary attends

In collaboration with Smart Agri-Post of New Delhi, ace co-op training institute Vamnicom conducted a two-day National Conference on “Investing in Soil Health for Food Safety” in Pune recently.

Chhabilendra Roul, Secretary, Department of Fertilizers, Government of India was the Chief Guest of the function. In his speech Roul said the government, stakeholders, cooperatives and farmers have to work together to ensure improvement in agriculture in the country.

The Secretary appreciated the initiative step taken by Vamnicom for bringing all the stakeholders, government officials, farmers, cooperatives, under one roof. He also underlined the importance of such initiative for other sectors.

Scores of top govt officials and cooperative functionaries attended the function.

There was a huge participation of FPOs, progressive farmers, fertilizer companies, academia and students. In exhibition, Stalls were put by NAFED, IFFCO, Rastriya Chemical Fertilizers (RCF) and others showcasing their products.

Panel Discussions took place on topics like: Recent Innovations in Soil Health and Nutrient Management, Smart Integrated Nutrient Management, Role of Cooperatives and FPOs in Smart use of Soil Nutrient Management etc.

During the discussions, there was a lot of interaction between farmers and experts. Smart Agri Post Magazine on Union Budget 2020, released a 16-point action plan to boost agriculture.

Dr.K.K.Tripathy, Director Vamnicom and Pravash Pradhan, Editor Smart Agri Post had taken this initiative of conducting the National Workshop on the agriculture sector.
