Vamnicom confers PG Diplomas on 85 students on its Foundation Day

The country’s leading Agri-Business management institute VAMNICOM Pune that works under the Ministry of Cooperation held its 56th Foundation Day as well as the 28th Batch Convocation Ceremony for the Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Agri Business & Management (2020-22) on Sunday, 15th January, 2023, at Shivneri Auditorium of VAMNICOM, Pune

Eighty-five students who passed out in 2022 were conferred the Post Graduate Diploma in Management-Agri Business & Management. Three meritorious students of the 28th Batch have been handed over the PGDM-ABM diploma and awarded medals in person by Gyanesh Kumar, IAS Secretary –Ministry of Cooperation, Govt of India, informs the press release issued by the institute.

The PGDM-ABM is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India, and has been granted as equivalent to M.B.A. degree by Association of Indian Universities and accredited by National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi.

Dr. Hema Yadav, Director VAMNICOM welcomed all the Guests, Parents, Faculty and Students who attended the Convocation Ceremony on campus and in online mode. She highlighted the various activities that the students undertake during the two year of PGDM-ABM program.

Dr D. Ravi, Joint Program Director, anchored the award ceremony. Ms. Regati Susharmila was an overall topper in the 28th Batch and was awarded, Gold Medal. Ms. Tengley Sanjana won the Silver medal and Ms. Ipsita Mishra won the Bronze Medal sponsored by NCUI. Ms. Bhanu was awarded the VAMNICOM meritorious scholarship. On this occasion, a PGDM student directory was released as well as the PGDM 30th year (Pearl Jubilee) celebration logo was unveiled.

Gyanesh Kumar, IAS – Secretary –Ministry of Cooperation, Govt of India, as the Chief Guest delivered his convocation address. In his address, he said that the Indian cooperative sector is one of the largest in the world and that it has more than 8.5 lakh cooperative societies covering 29 crores of members. He shared the story of Mitali Ben from Gujarat to give insight into how cooperatives were making a difference in the livelihood of rural people.

In his remarks as the guest of honor, Ramesh Doraiswami MD, CEO of National Bulk Handling Corporation touched upon the three qualities to become an effective and good leader. According to him, effective leaders have to understand and learn ground reality, follow the values, and have emotional intelligence.

Speaking on this occasion, Arun Raste MD & CEO, National Commodity & Derivative Exchange shed light on the top-performing cooperatives in India and their performance across the globe. He also talked about the strength of cooperatives to boost the economy of India.

Annop Kumar, IAS addl. Chief Secretary, Cooperation Govt. Maharashtra appreciated the role of VAMNICOM in National cooperative policy formation. He touched upon the development of cooperatives in India and the principles of cooperatives.

A large number of prominent cooperative functionaries belonging to various cooperative organizations attended the event.
