Vamnicom conducts Webinar for PACS of Leh & Ladakh

Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management, Pune organized a One Day webinar on “Computerization of PACS and PACS as a Common Service Centre” for DRCS Leh – Ladakh Region recently. The Premier institute also offered to train and handhold the region’s PACS for better results.

The webinar series is organized to know the different schemes initiated by the Ministry of Cooperation to make the cooperatives more resilient and viable. In total 55 PACS officials, faculties, dignitaries, and cooperative ecosystem stakeholders were present in the Webinar.

Those present in the webinar included Dr. Hema Yadav, Director, Moses Kunzang, Additional Registrar Cooperatives, UT, Ladakh, Dr. Mohd Abass, Deputy Registrar Cooperatives, Leh and Shahnawaz Rashid, Vice President, CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, among others.

Speaking on the occasion Additional Registrar Moes Kunzang talked about the need and the challenges in the cooperative ecosystem. He emphasized that initiatives taken by the Ministry of Cooperation will make the cooperative ecosystem more resilient and viable.

Dr. Hema Yadav, Director, VAMNICOM gave the opening remarks with the Leh and Ladakh existing cooperative scenario and sharing the success stories of Looms of Ladakh, Women cooperatives.

The first session was conducted by Shahnawaz Rashid on PACS as a Common Service Centre. In the session he highlighted how CSC will provide 300 different services to people.

Through this scheme PACS will provide all the services listed on the digital seva portal of CSC scheme to citizens including banking, insurance, Aadhar update, legal services, Agri inputs like farm equipment, PAN Card, IRCTC, Bus and Air ticket related services. Grass root people need not to move to other places to seek these services; they will get these services at one point.

Second session on Computerization of PACS was conducted by Dr. Mahesh Kadam, Associate Professor, VAMNICOM, Pune. He came up with the views and the beneficial moves after the computerization of PACS and how PACS were enacted as a business entity which will be beneficial for all the stakeholders in the cooperative ecosystem.

The webinar gave the introductory approach about the importance of computerization of PACS and How PCAS can act as a Common Service Centers. Realizing the need for effective training and handholding, Vamnicom offered to provide the same to DRCS, Leh and Ladakh region to execute the schemes of the Ministry of Cooperation.
