In a bid to organize the training programs for PACCs, Uttarakhand Pradeshik Cooperative Union (PCU) has urged the state government to provide them with the education fund of the cooperative department.
The matter was raised during the board meeting of PCU held recently in which the State Registrar of Cooperative Societies was present. The meeting was held under the leadership of Union Chairman Ram Mehtotra.
Addressing the members, Mehrotra said PCU will do the insurance being provided by district cooperative banks. PCU has now resumed the work of exporting Gangajal from Devprayag to the whole country which had been stopped due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. All kinds of pottery are being made in which Ganga water will be given to the customers on the basis of their demands”, he noted.
In the board meeting, Uttarakhand Registrar of Cooperative Societies Alok Kumar Pandey said the PCU should expand their activities at the Panchayat Level.
Talking to Indian Cooperative, the PCU MD M P Tripathy claimed that according to the Uttarakhand Cooperative Society Act, the cooperative education fund should belong to the Union.
“For bringing professionalism in the co-ops, there is a need to organize training programs for members as well as employees. If the education fund will be managed by the PCU then we will be able to organize scores of training programs for co-ops”, said Tripathy on the phone.
During the meeting, Uttarakhand State Cooperative Bank Chairman Dr Dan Singh Rawat highlighted the role of PCU in the state and wished them a bright success. The discussion was also held on the administrative structure of the PCU in the board meeting.
The Union proposed Institute of Co-Operative Corporate Management Research and Training (I.C.C.M.R.T.) also figured in discussions.
On the occasion, PCU Director Mamta Mehrotra, Gopal Singh, Supriya Chauhan, Rajendra Singh and others were present.
