While reviewing the activities of the cooperative department on Tuesday, Uttarakhand Cooperative Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat directed the Co-op Registrar to establish the cooperative dialogue with minimum five co-ops every month in each block of every district.
Rawat instructed that the assistant development officer and additional District Co-operative Officer of their respective blocks of each district, would interact with the farmers. The share certificate of interest-free loan disbursed by District Co-operative Banks should also be given to the concerned beneficiary, instructed the Minister.
During the meeting he also asked officials to give the dividend to farmers in the form of cash by making suitable amendments. The Assistant Development Officer (ADO) should be appointed in every block of the state.
“All the appointments to be made in District Co-operative Banks should be done through IBPS. Prepare a proposal for the recruitment of Deputy Registrar, Assistant Registrar in the cooperative department and submit it to the government for further action”, he asked.
Minister directed the officials to do a registry of private lands of all cooperative societies of the state.
On this occasion, Cooperative Secretary BVRC Purushottam instructed all the officers to take note of the Minister’s words and start the further process accordingly.
It is worth mentioning that recently Registrar of Cooperation Department Alok Kumar Pandey and other senior officials of the co-operative department had inspected a dozen of cooperatives in two districts of Uttarakhand. During the inspection, they interacted with the officials of respective co-ops and listened to their problems.
Cooperative Registrar Alok Kumar Pandey, Additional Registrar Ira Upreti, Deputy Registrar Neeraj Belwal, Deputy Registrar Mangala Prasad Tripathi and others were present in the meeting.
Readers would recall that earlier, Uttarakhand Opposition Congress held a dharna outside the secretariat in Dehradun raising the issue of corruption in the recruitment of peons in cooperative banks and demanding cooperative minister Dhan Singh Rawat’s resignation.
