Staying afloat despite Covid 19 scare; Biscomaun style!

While the Covid 19 has shattered businesses of co-ops and Corporates alike, there are scores of cooperatives which have not only taken care of themselves but also of the society in which they operate. Bihar Marketing Co-op Federation BISCOMAUN offers one such example.

In a bid to give relief to his employees, Biscomaun has asked them to work in their respective districts instead of traveling outside their districts. Life is more important than business, declared its Chairman Dr Sunil Kumar Singh.

“Employees should talk to the regional manager of the district famer centers and concentrate on the audit of sale work along with monitoring the godowns”, Sunil said talking about the notification brought out by the co-op body for the employees.

Sunil further said, “Due to the coronavirus pandemic the business has been stalled. Despite this Biscouman is giving salary to its employees working in Bihar as well as Jharkhand. All the employees have been asked to work in their respective districts”, he added.

Biscomaun is also using the Covid times to get its dilapidated godowns repaired with the help of its vast network of members.

On this the Chairman said “our godowns are becoming old and getting damaged by heavy rain and dust storms. Under these circumstances employees should get the warehouses repaired. The expenses will be met by the managers”, he asserted.

Long queue of people gathers in Sunil’s village Dumri Bujurg near Patna every evening to claim a packet of biscuits his men distributes to countless people.  He asks everyone to maintain the social distance and wear masks and other protective gear. About 5000 packets of biscuits are being distributed every day for the past 40 days, Sunil says with a twinkle in his eyes. He has also released many videos of the same on social media.

But his help is not limited to biscuits alone, reminds his long-time friend and associate at Biscomaun, Gopal Giri. “During the current crisis Sunilbabu is also active in distributing the essentials items to the needy, he added.

Singh has provided food-item kits consisting of 10kg rice, 5kg flour, different types of lentils, salt, sugar, onion, masala and others items to the needy of the society, added Giri.

Meanwhile, Singh has also appealed to all the PACCs Chairmen of Sonpur Subdivision in Saran district of Bihar to provide the list of needy people for providing the monthly grains and other essential items through the employees of Biscomaun.

Earlier, Biscomaun donated a sum of Rs 11 lakh towards the CM Relief Fund.
