SP tsunami hits cooperative movement too

The upheaval being witnessed in the Yadav clan in Lucknow has had its fallout for the cooperative movement of the country as well with the President of the apex body NCUI Chandra Pal Singh Yadav camping in Lucknow trying to douse the fire.

He was to come to Delhi on Monday to attend a Parliamentary Committee meeting but he could not owing to obvious political reasons. There is yet another important meeting on Tuesday but his personal staff members do not know if he would be able to make it.

He did not go to Motihari in a NCUI function in which Union Minister Radha Mohan Singh participated. But that decision was taken much before the political drama in Lucknow had started, informed a source.

Readers must be aware that Chandra Pal is Rajya Sabha member from Samajwadi Party. He also holds the important post of treasurer in the party.

Meanwhile, as the fight between the father and the son intensifies cooperators connected to the party are in a fix which side to go. Earlier, Aditya Yadav, one of the Directors on the IFFCO board gave away before the media that his party would fall short of even a simple majority in the 403-member state assembly as “apna internal surveys” had indicated that they would get only around 170 seats.

However, Aditya, when asked if he was admitting that SP would not form the next government in the state said ,”This is the minimum number of seats that we would win but eventually the tally would go higher”.

Aditya who also represents IFFCO on the ICA board is the son of Shiv Pal- the man at the centre of the unprecedented controversy in the ruling party in Uttar Pradesh.

Indian Express however reports a patch up is on the cards as hours after the drama SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav called his son, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, and brother Shivpal Yadav Monday evening  to his home and asked them to resolve all differences and work together.

Sources said Akhilesh and Shivpal spent 45 minutes together at the CM residence in the evening and left together in a car to meet Mulayam Singh. They were there for more than an hour and the SP chief made them hug each other and promise to work together, sources said.
