Souharda Co-op training attracts enthusiasts; numbers swell

The 4th batch of Diploma in Cooperation and Banking Management Course (DCBM), launched earlier by Karnataka State Souharda Federal Cooperative Ltd, is currently going on across its centers, informs a press release from the co-op body.

Karnataka State Souharda Federal Cooperative Ltd., (KSSFCL), Bengaluru, a regulatory body for the Souharda cooperatives are doing Training and Education activities for the Souharda Cooperatives of Karnataka, wherein even a non-member can join.

Primarily, a training program for the Presidents, office bearers, Directors, Staff members of the KSSFCL, it’s a regular program. The training modules have been developed by the co-op experts, claims the release.

Each batch is registering a greater interest in the KSSFC training program as could be seen by a swelling number of participants. The 1st Batch of the DCBM Course was successfully completed with 181 participants and in the 2nd batch, there were 272 participants. More than 405 members have benefitted from the 3rd batch and currently, in the 4th Batch, more than 531 participants are attending the DCBM course.

It bears recall that in the past there was demand from the Souharda cooperatives to start a long-term training program for the employees which will be helpful for their appointment and promotions etc.

Evaluating the demand, the Board of management of KSSFCL decided to start a short-term Diploma in Cooperation and Banking Management (DCBM) Diploma course for Souharda Cooperatives. The Board also resolved that the training module should be broad-based with emphasis on serving the cooperative, banking, and managerial sectors.

This course is for the employees of the Souharda but any youth or any non-member cooperative leader can also take up this DCBM course. This is aimed at strengthening the cooperative movement, claims the release.

There will be a two-day contact class every two months. The first contact class was held on the 19th and 20th of February 2022 at Bangalore, Shivamogga, Hosapete, and Karwar centers the 2nd slot of the 1st contact class program will start from 26th and 27th February 2022.

Earlier, Karnataka State Souharda Federal Cooperative organised the CEOs’ meeting for Bengaluru Souharda cooperatives at Regional Institute of Cooperative Management, Padmanabhanagar, Bengaluru. B H Krishna Reddy, President, KSSFCL, Sri. Jayaprakash, Faculty, RICM was the chief guest for the program. 112 chief executives from Bangalore, rural, and Ramanagar districts participated.

Some of the Souharda Fed campuses active in the training include Bangalore center, Karwar center, Hospete center, and Shivamogga center.
