Singh on Face Book: Farmers seek kids’ help

There was a virtual scramble to ask questions to the Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Radha Mohan Singh in a live question and answers session on Face book on Wednesday as Face Book shy farmers took help of their kids to articulate their questions.

Agriculture students, agriculture scientists, agriculture traders, professionals, media men as well as startups-all lined up to put direct questions to the Minister who said through direct conversation, one comes to know the kind of activities taking place in different regions of the country related to agricultural sector and what is the progress of central schemes.

Through these queries, the task performed by the States is also reviewed, as the implementation of central schemes is carried through the assistance of the states, he added.

Singh said Central Government is determined to bring a positive change in the lives of farmers and the Ministry of Agriculture is taking all efforts to achieve the goal. Questions related to Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and the process of applying, organic farming, and progress related to Soil Health Cards in the States, FDI in Livestock, Agro product and startup.

On the issue of agriculture education and employment Singh said that awareness is on rise. He would continue to have facebook live chats with all stakeholders, Singh promised.
