Dileep Sanghani, President of the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI), made a significant return to the organization’s headquarters on Thursday after a brief hiatus. His visit underscored a renewed commitment to enhancing the efficiency and accountability of India’s apex cooperative body.
Sanghani convened a comprehensive meeting with all departmental heads to assess their current projects, challenges, and performance metrics. He emphasized that future promotions and salary increments would be contingent upon individual performance evaluations.
“I am personally monitoring their progress and have exhorted them to work tirelessly to strengthen the cause of the cooperative movement in the country,” Sanghani said talking to this correspondent.
He further highlighted the immense responsibility shouldered by the organization and the necessity for a clear, strategic roadmap to advance the cooperative sector nationwide.
At the NCUI, Sanghani also engaged with cooperative trainees at the National Centre for Cooperative Education (NCCE), reflecting his commitment to nurturing the next generation of cooperative leaders.
Accompanied by senior officials, he inspected the ongoing construction of the hostel building, directing National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) officers to expedite the project to ensure timely completion.
This proactive approach aligns with Sanghani’s broader vision for 2025, which he has championed as a transformative year for cooperatives. Under his leadership, NCUI has expanded global ties and showcased India’s cooperative leadership on international platforms.
In addition to infrastructural developments, Sanghani addressed human resource concerns, particularly the status of contractual staff whose services had been previously terminated. He confirmed that their work is under review, indicating a potential reconsideration of their roles within the organization.
Sanghani’s return to active duty follows a rejuvenating 12-day Panchakarma treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), reflecting his dedication to personal well-being and professional responsibilities.
