Sahakar Bharati units across states celebrate Foundation Day

It was a big day for Sahakar Bharati as its karya karta, donning new clothes, fanned out in the states greeting each other with “Jai Sahakar”. 11th January celebrated as the foundation day of Sahakar Bharati witnessed scores of programs across the country where its top-notch leaders including Ministers registered their participation.

If its President Ramesh Vaidya participated in an event organized in its town at Gangavathi in Koppal district, its National Organizing Secretary Sanjay Pachpor attended a function hosted at Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Besides one of the founder members of Sahakar Bharati Satish Marathe was a speaker at the function organized in the premises of Vishwakarma Sahakari Bank in Mangalore.

In one of the functions organized by the Uttar Pradesh Chapter of Sahakar Bharati in Lucknow, State Cooperative Minister Mukut Bihari Verma took part and spoke about the cooperative movement of the country. Sahakar Bharati’s State General Secretary Dr. Praveen Jadoun, UP State Cooperative Bank Chairman Teejveer Singh, Nafed Government Nominee Ashok Thakur and others were also present. The hall was packed with cooperators.

The different state units of Sahakar Bharati also organized scores of functions on the occasion. The discussions mainly centered on the role of a cooperative in Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Sahakar Bharati Patron Jyotindrabhai Mehta also congratulated the co-operators on the occasion. He also mentioned the incredible slogan, “Bina Sanskar Nahi Sahakar” once again on social media.

Talking to Indian Cooperative the mild-mannered Vaidya said that more than 80 cooperators associated with Souharda Co-ops assembled in Gangavathi on Monday. Sahakar Bharti has been making sincere efforts over the last years to address several problems confronting cooperatives in the country.

In the function organized in Mangalore, over 100 co-operators and 11 Chartered Accountants participated. Several of them were connected through Video Conferencing. The Karnataka Cooperators led by State Sahakar Bharati Chapter Satishchandra raised the voice against the income tax burden on credit co-ops. Marathe said Co-ops can play a key role in Atmanirbhar Bharat and cooperatives are a good example of this.

In another function at Indore, Sanjay Pachpor said Cooperation is not possible without Sanskar. To connect a cooperative with Sanskar, Sahakar Bharati will try to remove its flaws and shortcomings. On the occasion, he also released a video message for his followers on social media.

Besides, IFFCO and other apex body organizations also congratulated Sahakar Bharati. IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi,wrote ” Hearty congratulations to Sahakar Bharati and all the cooperative brothers associated with the cooperative on its foundation day. Hope that Sahakar Bharti will continue to have their reach at every corner of the country. Heartiest congratulations to all”.

Established on 11 January, in 1978, the cooperative body completes 40 years of its existence today. Sahakar Bharati was established by Late Laxmanrao Inamdar in 1978 in Pune with an objective to enlighten the masses about the benefits of the cooperative movement.

It is worth a mention that Sahakar Bharati celebrated the Laxman Rao Inamdar Centenary year in 2017 at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi which was addressed by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi treats Inamdar as his political mentor.
