The Coop Minister of Gujarat Ishwarbhai Patel has promised to amend the coop act to make it relevant to the needs and times. Patel was speaking at the function of Sahakar Bharati.
Gujarat Unit of Sahakar Bharati organized a “Sahakar Gaurav Conference” on the occasion of the centenary celebrations of Sahakar Bharati founder and source of inspiration Late Laxmanrao Inamdar in Tridev Mandir Auditorium in Ahmadabad last week. The State Cooperative Minister was invited as the chief guest.
Sharing the details of the event on social media, Sahakar Bharati Chief Jyotindra Mehta announced “Sahkar Gaurav Samaroh by Sahkar Bharti, Gujarat Pradesh.”
Mehta addressed the gathering and welcomed the representatives from about 800 cooperative societies of state and said that there is a need to amend the cooperative act.
The cooperative minister Ishwarbhai Patel thanked Sahakar Bharati team for organizing such a well attended conference. He said “I have noted the request of Jyotindrabhai Mehta on the issue of amendment in the cooperative act. Government will certainly take up the matter.”
Sahakar Bharati Patron Satish Marathe also commented on the event in social media “Sahakar Gaurav Sammelan organised by Gujarat unit of Sahakar Bharati was held today, 11th Feb, 2017 at Tridev Mandir Auditorium”.
Marathe said “We have organized more than 100 conferences in about 19 states and urged the representatives from Urban Banks and Credit Cooperative to adopt technology in their activities to compete with payment banks and others”, he underlined.
He also said that there is a need to educate the members of cooperative societies in order to strengthen the cooperative movement.
Minister inaugurated the conference which was attended by over 4000 cooperators from various parts of the state.
On this occasion Ajay Shah, Chairman, Gujarat State Coop Bank Ltd was felicitated.
Readers would note that Sahakar Bharati is celebrating the centenary year of its founder Late Laxmanrao Inamdar for whole of the year.
