Rajasthan’s Samay Credit Co-op: Central Registrar orders closure

The Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) has started the process of winding up of Rajasthan-based Samay Credit Cooperative Society.

In this regard Vijay Kumar, CRCS has issued a notice last week which reads, “It has been decided to initiate the winding-up process of the Society under the provisions of the MSCS Act, 2002 and Rules made thereunder”

“In case of any objections, the same may be brought before the notice of this Authority within 15 days from the date of uploading this notice on the official website i.e. www.mscs.dac.gov.in failing which action would be initiated to wind up the society under the provisions of MSCS Act and rules made thereunder Registrar”, according to the Central Registrar notice.

It further reads, “Samay Credit Cooperative Society Ltd., 129, Near Sethi Nursing Home, Hanumangarh Town, Rajasthan-335513 (Regn. No. MSCS/CR/486/2012)” (hereinafter referred as Society) is registered under the provisions of Multi-State Cooperative Societies (MSCS) Act, 2002″

“The Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Govt. of Rajasthan vide letter No. 15(19) Savira/ Credit /MSCS/Nirikshan report/22 dated 02.03.2022 has forwarded an inspection report of the Society conducted by the Deputy Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Hanumangarh Division under Section 108 of the Act.

Further, the inspecting officer has submitted that he visited the Society’s Head branch at Hanumangarh on 17.08.2021 and its Nohar branch on 18.08.2021 and found that the Society is closed for a long time and the whereabouts of the Board of Directors is not traceable. There are four complaints against the Society on the State Government’s portal.

Besides the above, the Society has not submitted its Annual returns mandatory under the provisions of Section 120 of the Act to this office and it appears that the Society is absconding and not functioning at its registered address under the provisions of the Act, it concludes.

Earlier, the CRCS issued a notice related to the winding up of scam-ridden Rajasthan-based Navjeevan Credit Co-operative Society.
