The Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies Anand Kumar Jha issued an order for the winding up of three-multi state credit cooperative societies of Rajasthan on Wednesday.
These societies are Banswara based Wagar Credit Cooperative Society, Jodhpur based Welcome India Credit Cooperative Society and Amardeep Credit Cooperative Society.
In its order on 5th June 2024, Jha asked the registrar of cooperative societies, government of Rajasthan to appoint the officer of registrar of cooperative societies to take further necessary action as per the provisions of Act & rules made thereunder.
“The liquidator shall finalize the liquidation proceeding to wind up the society and shall also submit the state report showing the progress made in liquidation of the society to this office on quarterly basis”, the CRCS order copy reads.
In the context of Wagar Credit Cooperative Society, the order reads, “The president informed over phone that the society office has been seized by a private finance company. The Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Government of Rajasthan, recommended putting the society under liquidation as per the MSCS Act and Rules”.the order states.
Whereas, in regard to the Welcome India Credit Cooperative Society the order reads, “The Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Government of Rajasthan submitted an inspection report of Society u/s 108 of Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002 and reported that no such office of the Society is found operating at its registered address. The Society has not submitted its mandatory annual returns u/s 120 of the Act to this office”. it says.
“The Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Government of Rajasthan submitted an inspection report of Society u/s 108 of Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002 and reported that no such office of the Society is found operating at its registered address. The Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Government of Rajasthan, recommended to put the society under liquidation as per the MSCS Act and Rules”, the order copy reads in regard to Amardeep Credit Cooperative Society.
As per the ministry data, there are 73 multi state cooperative societies in different sectors including Credit & thrift societies, multipurpose cooperatives and others in different parts of Rajasthan.
