Promoting Co-op Tourism: NCUI plans Exposure visit to Gujarat Co-ops

The National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) has announced an innovative Study Exposure Visit to Gujarat from 3rd to 7th July 2025, on the auspicious occasion of the Bhoomi Poojan of Tribhuvan Sahkari University at Anand.

This five-day programme is part of NCUI’s broader initiative to promote Cooperative Tourism, a sustainable, community-led model encouraging cooperatives to engage meaningfully in the tourism and hospitality sectors through cultural and educational immersion.

Aligned with the International Day of Cooperatives 2025, which is celebrated on the first Saturday of July, the visit will highlight the cooperative principle of “Cooperation among Cooperatives.”

It also seeks to showcase successful cooperative models while reinforcing themes of cultural preservation, sustainability, and shared learning.

The itinerary includes participation in the Bhoomi Poojan ceremony of Tribhuvan Sahkari University at the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) on 5th July, and the celebration of the Foundation Day of the Ministry of Cooperation on 6th July 2025 at the iconic AMUL Dairy Plant, Anand.

These flagship events will be held in the presence of the Union Minister for Home and Cooperation Amit Shah adding national significance to the occasion.

Participants will also visit prominent cooperative institutions across Gujarat and experience a specially curated cultural and educational tour to the Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar (Kevadia), Narmada. The visit begins and concludes in Ahmedabad, ensuring smooth local coordination and travel within the state.

The participation fee is Rs 30,000 plus 18% GST (Rs 35,400) for double occupancy and Rs 40,000 plus 18% GST (Rs 47,200) for single occupancy. The cost covers boarding, lodging, local transportation, and travel insurance. Participants are required to manage their own travel to and from Ahmedabad.
