Opposition parties are misguiding innocent farmers: Sanghani

More than six cooperative societies in Amreli district of Gujarat held their AGMs together in the premises of AMR Dairy on Saturday last week. Besides other things, the issue of farmers agitation in different parts of India against the farm bills echoed in the meeting.

Keeping in view the safety and physical distance protocols, only key persons were present at the spot and the rest including members and others were connected through video conferencing.

Big video screens were set up in 11 Taluka of Amreli District for seeing the proceedings of the meeting. The event was also live streamed on Facebook and YouTube. The AGMs which saw an unprecedented turnout passed off smoothly.

Naranbhai Kachhadiya, Bharatiya Janata Party, Member of Parliament from Amreli was the chief guest. BJP District President Kaushik Vekariya, Amreli DCCB and NCUI Chairman Dileepbhai Sanghani, AMR Dairy Chairman Ashwinbhai Savaliya, Bhagyalakshmi Credit Cooperative Chairman Bhawna Gondaliya, Amreli District Co-op Union Manish Sanghani and others eminent dignitaries were present. on the occasion.

The participants were drawn from several cooperative bodies such as district central co-op bank, dairy co-op, district cooperative union, Gujarat Mahila Credit co-op and other cooperative institutions.

In his speech, Kachhadiya praises the efforts of co-ops in Gujarat for helping the needy during the lockdown. Co-ops have played an important role not only in providing food but also given shelter to poor families.

Recounting the achievements of the BJP government, he said that the government has announced Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) for supporting all farmer families across the country and other several schemes are in the pipeline.

Amreli DCCB Chairman Dileepbhai Sanghani said, “Opposition parties are trying to manipulate the farmers of the country. The new farm bills will strengthen the farmers and help in extra income generation. The APMC will not close and MSP will not go”, he stated.

“In 2017, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for a honey plant at AMR Dairy, its completion and inauguration will be done soon. We are also planning to launch a peanut butter plant. In our district co-ops are playing an important role in income generation, said Sanghani who has been recently elected as the President of NCUI.

On the sidelines of the event Sanghani was also felicitated by the cooperators for being elected as the President of NCUI.
