NLCF: Pandey’s fate hangs in balance

The Board meeting of the apex national cooperative body NLCF could not decide on the issue of whether to continue with the services of Managing Director R M Pandey or allow him to retire as per normal schedule.

Pandey is retiring on 30 June, 2016. Wednesday was supposed to be the last meeting before his retirement but the agenda could not be passed. “The agenda was not complete and more details were needed and that is why the board decided to reconsider it later”, said Ashok Dabas to Indian Cooperative.

On the question if Pandey is going to be retained, Dabas said it is normally the chairman’s call and only he call tell you.

Later talking to Indian Cooperative from Hoshiyarpur for which he had left soon after attending the board meeting Sanjiv Kushalkar, Chairman NLCF said “ Let us see; as of now we have decided nothing; will let you know later.”

Kushalkar added “we have decided to have one more Board meeting before MD’s retirement ; accounts are to be seen and loose ends are to be tightened before we take a call on the matter”, he added.

Meanwhile, Pandey the man controlling the Sarita Vihar office of NLCF in Delhi is keeping his fingers crossed. He refused to talk on the issue.

Though labour cooperative is a cash-rich sector, the apex body NLCF is smarting under the shortage of fund. It was because of addition of one more floor to its Sarita Vihar headquarters in Delhi and because of the rental money coming from this that it is able to meet the salary expenses of the staff.
