When the NLCF MD had to call it quits last week an interesting spectacle was seen at the Sarita Vihar headquarters of labour cooperative federation. R M Pandey the MD is said to have insisted that he would continue as the advisor as desired by the Board and therefore nothing has changed as far as he is concerned.
Majority of employees were against Pandey, said a source. They argued that if in long 17 years this man did nothing for the Federation where is the need to have him as the Advisor.
Pandey is said to be reluctant to part with the office files and at one point it looked he would come to blows with some including an employee Chauhan. Though Chauhan denied this and said “ we only had hot discussions”.
After attending the 28th meeting majority of Board members including Chairman Sanjiv Kushalkar had left entrusting Ashok Dabas with the job of overseeing transition of power.
Dabas was present in the handing over ceremony but would not comment on the last minute tussle witnessed on June 30th at the NFCL headquarters.
At a pointed query from Indian Cooperative about the agenda of the June 28th meeting Dabas however conceded that the issue of MD’s superannuation alone was the issue. He was not made Advisior by the board that day, he added.
Sources however said that Pandey wanted the employees to believe that he continues in power as Advisor and was unwilling to let go of perks including official vehicle.
Earlier on Tuesday, the NLCF Board decided to say him goodbye. Pandey ruled the roost in NLCF as Executive head for close to 17 years. Mrs Pratibha Ahuja the next person in hierarchy has been made officiating MD by the Board.
