NCDFI organized a function to celebrate the 51st Foundation Day on Tuesday (December 7, 2021) at the Dr. Verghese Kurien Auditorium, NDDB, Anand. Meenesh Shah, Chairman, NDDB was the Chief Guest of the function. The event was attended by the officials of NDDB and NCDFI.
Mangal Jit Rai, Chairman, NCDFI delivered the welcome address at the function. He gave a brief account of the historical background of NCDFI and its various activities, which was followed by the release of the first cut of the short corporate film on NCDFI.
Meenesh Shah, Chairman, NDDB congratulated the Chairman and entire team of NCDFI for the landmark progress in various dimensions, especially highlighting the effective functioning of “NCDFI eMarket” and its role in ensuring transparency and efficient business operations.
Shah congratulated NCDFI for playing a pivotal role in the growth and development of the dairy industry in the country.
Addressing the event, Shah said NCDFI is the 4th tier of the cooperative network whose role justifies the 6th Cooperative principle ‘Cooperation among Cooperatives and NCDFI has been advancing the interests of the cooperative sector as a national-level apex federation.
It bears recall that NDDB Dairy Services posts a total annual turnover of Rs 4,564 crore from 15 milk producer companies (MPC). It needs mention that NDS has been instrumental in establishing 15 MPCs in 69 districts across eight states in the country.
NDS promoted Milk Producer Companies in the areas where the cooperatives are not present or coverage by cooperatives is inadequate. Currently, about 24 percent of villages are covered by dairy cooperatives.
“Ever since Shah joined as NDDB Chairman in June this year, he has been working hard to usher in the milk revolution in remote parts of the country. Shah was also actively organizing a mega event at the NDDB campus on the occasion of Verghese Kurian’s birthday last week”, said KC Supekar, MD, NCDFI.
In his speech, Supekar enlightened the audience about the long association and endless support extended by the NDDB, all through the existence of the NCDFI, and continued to provide patronage for its various activities including “NCDFI eMarket”. Supekar expressed thanks to Meenesh Shah, Chairman, NDDB for his continued support, encouragement, and guidance.
Rajesh N Parjane, Director, NCDFI delivered a vote of thanks. He extended gratitude to the Chairman, NDDB, and NCDFI along with MD and ED, NCDFI for gracing the occasion and extended thanks to the officials of NDDB and NCDFI for the successful conduct of the function.
