The 56th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Nagaland State Cooperative Bank Ltd. (NSCtCB) was held on October 24, 2025, at the bank’s Head Office in Dimapur, underscoring the institution’s steady progress in strengthening cooperative banking and rural development across the state.
Chaired by Vice-Chairman H. Kashito Yepthomi, the meeting approved the Annual Reports of Directors and Auditors for 2024–25 and adopted the revised and estimated budgets up to 2026–27. The proceedings of the previous AGM were confirmed, marking another year of financial consolidation and improved governance.
Commissioner and Secretary of Cooperation and IPR, Orenthung Lotha, lauded the bank’s contribution to Nagaland’s cooperative movement, describing it as a vital force for rural empowerment and entrepreneurship. He emphasized that cooperatives must pursue not only growth but also uphold transparency, accountability, and service to their members.
Citing the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, Lotha said the government envisions every village in Nagaland having at least one functional cooperative society driving local self-reliance. He urged members to actively participate in decision-making, maintain updated documentation, and ensure timely loan repayments to enhance collective success.
Lotha also encouraged NSCtCB to design innovative products for farmers, women entrepreneurs, and small businesses, noting that inclusive finance is key to sustainable growth. He praised the bank’s management for improving operational efficiency, cutting NPAs, and expanding digital services for wider accessibility.
Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Bokato Hesso, and NABARD’s General Manager (OIC) P. Bulte also commended the bank’s performance, urging cooperatives to continue adopting sound governance and technology-driven practices.
