A PIB report states that NAFED has stepped up to support pilgrims at Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. The cooperative giant is ensuring the availability of quality rations at affordable prices for devotees attending the grand religious gathering.
NAFED is distributing wheat flour, pulses, rice, and other essential items at subsidized rates. Devotees can conveniently order rations via WhatsApp or phone call, with more than 1,000 metric tons already distributed. The supply operation is ongoing, covering the entire Mahakumbh city and Prayagraj through 20 mobile vans.
To prevent food shortages for saints, kalpavasis, and devotees, ration deliveries are carried out efficiently via mobile vans. Rohit Jain, NAFED’s state head, highlighted that this initiative is being run under the Ministry of Cooperation, ensuring no devotee faces food scarcity.

Devotees at Mahakumbh can place their ration orders via WhatsApp or phone at 72757 81810. The subsidized ration includes 10kg packets of wheat flour and rice, while moong, masoor, and chana dal are available in 1kg packets. Upon receiving orders, mobile vans promptly deliver supplies to ashrams and ascetics.
So far, 700 metric tons of wheat flour, 350 metric tons of pulses (moong, masoor, and chana dal), and 10 metric tons of rice have been distributed. NAFED’s products, especially Bharat Brand grains, are becoming increasingly popular among devotees.
Through this initiative, the government is not only ensuring high-quality rations for millions of pilgrims but also making the process efficient and accessible.
The integration of mobile vans and on-call facilities has enhanced the service, making Mahakumbh 2025 a seamless and memorable experience for all attendees.
