Modi lauds Radha Mohan’s gift of gab

Union Agricultural Minister Radha Mohan Singh has the gift of the gab was obvious to the Cooperative circles soon after he delivered his speech in the NCUI Valedictory speech in November last but now it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s turn to laud his oratorical skills.

Prime Minister praised agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh for his effective response to Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi’s attack on the government over the land bill in the Lok Sabha earlier in the week.

The ever alert cooperative news portal Indian Cooperative reported the story “Radha Mohan retorts Rahul on MSP” even before the Prime Minister could know about Radha Mohan’s apt reply to the Congress Vice President.

At the BJP’s parliamentary party meeting, Modi told Singh that he had not heard him but he was told that the minister had done a great job while replying in the Lok Sabha. A minister said, “The prime minister hailed the agriculture minister ‘s reply” backed by facts“, as important, reported Times News Network.

Singh was applauded by his party colleagues in the House and outside for giving a befitting reply to Rahul. Singh had defended the government listing a raft of measures taken by the Centre for relief of farmers affected by the recent rains and hailstorms and took a dig at the opposition for looking at things with “coloured glasses“. He also offered earthly rebuttals of Rahul’s allegations.

In his indomitable style, as reported by Indian Cooperative Radha Mohan said to Rahul “We welcome you… You have returned from a long foreign trip. You cannot make false statements. Your statistics is totally wrong on Minimum Support Price given to farmers,” said Singh.

Readers would recall that during the NCUI’s valedictory speech and later in the NCCT programme at a five-star hotel in Delhi Radha Mohan had made some tart comments about top cooperative leaders with logic and wit few could match.
