Marathe nominated to NCDC Board

Satish Marathe, Patron of Sahakar Bharati has been nominated by the Ministry of Agriculture (Department of Agriculture and Cooperation), Govt of India on the Board of Management of National Cooperative Development Corporation, the premier Apex Financing Institution for the Co Op Sector.

Born on February 1, 1950, Marathe holds Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce and Law (Gen) from the University of Bombay. He holds Diploma in Journalism from the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai and was the recipient of Gold Medal in the area of Reporting.

Satish Marathe is the Founder Member of Sahakar Bharati which was registered in the year 1979 and is presently, its Savrakshak. Previously, he was the National President for 6 years. Sahakar Bharati has spread its activities India wide and presently, over 20,000 Co Operatives are associated with Sahakar Bharati. It is the largest NGO in the Co Operative sector in the country.

Last year IFFCO conferred Sahakarita Ratna Award on Marathe. He is the only recipient of the Award from Maharashtra.

Along with him another well-known name from Sahakar Bharati Jyotindrabhai Mehta has also been nominated to the General Council of National Cooperative Development Corporation. Mehta is President of Sahakar Bharati as well as that of apex body of UCBs known as NAFCUB.

H.S. Manjappa, President, Karnataka Rajya Adike Marata Sahakara Mandala Ltd of Sahakar Bharati has also been nominated on the General Council of National Cooperative Development Corporation.
