Karnataka State Souharda Federal Cooperative Ltd. (KSSFCL) celebrated International Women’s Day with a meaningful program attended by 135 women from various Souharda cooperatives.
Dr. Tejaswini Ananth Kumar, Managing Trustee and Chairperson of Adamya Chethana Foundation, inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp. Emphasizing sustainable living, she shared her journey of maintaining a zero-garbage kitchen for over a decade, converting waste into briquettes as an alternative fuel source. She highlighted the importance of planning in advance and in detail, emphasizing that change begins at home.
The event was presided over by KSSFCL President Shri G. Nanjana Gowda. Mrs. Sriroopa, Director of Sericulture and Commissioner of Animal Husbandry, Bengaluru, served as the chief guest and highlighted the unique strengths of women, emphasizing their roles in fostering love, peace, faith, and patience.
As part of the celebrations, KSSFCL honored five distinguished women for their contributions in various fields. Smt. Nagamani was recognized for her work in the cooperative sector, Smt. Susheelamma for her efforts in social work, Smt. Divyasree for her contributions to the arts, Smt. Alibina Shankar for her service in healthcare, and Smt. Meghana Joish for her dedication in the service sector.
The afternoon session featured an interactive discussion on government schemes and socio-economic empowerment opportunities for women. The session was presided over by Smt. Bharathi G. Bhat, with insights from Dr. Meenakshi Khandi Math, Smt. Sowmya, and Smt. Manasa Krishnappa. The discussions focused on how women can leverage available resources for their overall development.
In the valedictory session, Mrs. Gagana K, Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies, stressed the importance of women prioritizing their health and incorporating yoga into their daily routines.
KSSFCL Director Mrs. Shailaja Thapali praised the well-organized program and called for similar initiatives across the state. The event concluded with a prayer song by Smt. Harsha Prabha and team, leaving participants enriched and inspired.
