In a remarkable display of cooperative strength, the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO) reported an impressive Rs 3,811 crore profit before tax for the financial year 2024-25, marking its third consecutive year of Rs 3,000+ crore profits.
The largest fertilizer cooperative in the world, IFFCO, organized its 54th Annual General Meeting at the iconic Bharat Mandapam on Thursday in an atmosphere of great enthusiasm. The AGM witnessed the participation of cooperators from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, who gathered under one roof to be part of this historic event at Bharat Mandapam.
Fuelled by a 47% year-on-year growth in Nano Fertilizer sales, the organization also registered a robust turnover of Rs 41,244 crore. IFFCO sold 365.09 lakh bottles of Nano Fertilizers this fiscal, significantly up from 248.95 lakh in the previous year.
Notably, the Nano DAP category posted a staggering 118% increase in sales, with Nano Urea Plus also rising by 31%, reinforcing the growing acceptance of eco-friendly, high-efficiency inputs among Indian farmers.

Highlighting IFFCO’s role as the host of the ICA Global Conference and General Assembly in November 2024, Sanghani said, “We had earlier organized a grand event, the ICA Regional Assembly, at Bharat Mandapam, where we met cooperators from across the globe. Now, we have gathered here again for the IFFCO AGM at the same prestigious venue”
Managing Director Dr. U.S. Awasthi emphasized IFFCO’s future-ready strategy, unveiling plans to launch Nano NPK in granular form and Nano Zinc and Nano Copper in 100ml liquid bottles. These innovations aim to further boost crop productivity, reduce nutrient loss, and make conventional chemical fertilizers obsolete.
The shift toward Nano inputs has already shown measurable impact. The sales figures of Nano fertilizers for FY 2024-25 are equivalent to saving 12 lakh MT of conventional Urea and 4.85 lakh MT of conventional DAP. Specialty products also performed well: Sagarika Liquid recorded a 33% increase with 11.55 lakh litres sold, Sagarika Granule jumped 28% to 68,000 MT, while bio-fertilizer sales rose 35% to 8.61 lakh litres. Additionally, IFFCO’s WSF and other specialty fertilizers logged a modest yet notable increase of 2%, achieving 1.92 lakh MT in sales.
IFFCO’s influence extended well beyond product innovation. In FY 2024-25, it launched the “Model Nano

Under the Government’s Mega Campaign, IFFCO also conducted over 1,470 field trials across 15 agro-climatic zones, demonstrating over 5% yield increases with Nano Urea and Nano DAP. The organization distributed 2.5 lakh sprayers and introduced IFFCO Kisan Drones to modernize fertilizer application, training rural entrepreneurs to offer drone spraying services.
Globally, IFFCO expanded into 40+ countries and gained traction in markets like the USA, Brazil, and Kenya. It remains the world’s top cooperative by GDP contribution, as per the World Cooperative Monitor. The year also saw Dr. Awasthi honoured with the ‘Rochdale Pioneers Award’ and the title of ‘Fertiliser Man of India’, further cementing IFFCO’s legacy as a beacon of cooperative excellence and agricultural transformation.
Strengthening the cooperative fabric, IFFCO conferred its prestigious awards on grassroots leaders. Mansinhbhai Kalyanjibhai Patel of Gujarat received the ‘IFFCO Sahakarita Ratna Award’ for his pioneering efforts in strengthening the movement, while Amrik Singh of Haryana was honoured with the ‘IFFCO Sahakarita Bandhu Award’ for his work in expanding cooperative networks.
IFFCO General Manager (Cooperative Development) Santosh Shukla meticulously coordinated the event.
