The world’s leading cooperative, Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
During its 595th Board meeting held today, Friday, IFFCO—under the leadership of Chairman Dileep Sanghani and Managing Director Dr. U. S. Awasthi—passed a resolution expressing grief over the tragic incident and pledged support to the victims’ families.
In a show of solidarity, Dileep Sanghani has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, affirming IFFCO’s support to the government and conveying deep sorrow for the lives lost. The cooperative, known for its unwavering commitment to national welfare, reaffirmed its strong stance against all forms of terrorism.
IFFCO’s Board issued a five-point resolution. First, it unequivocally condemned the attack, calling it a cowardly act against the values and spirit of India. Second, the cooperative extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and pledged support, including exploring avenues of assistance in coordination with relevant authorities.
Third, IFFCO endorsed the firm steps taken by the Government of India—such as the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and closure of the Attari-Wagah border—expressing full faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to ensure justice.
Fourth, the cooperative called for unity and resilience across the country, urging citizens and organizations to reject divisive forces and come together to promote peace and harmony. Lastly, IFFCO reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to national interest and pledged to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the government and the people of India in the fight against terrorism.
It bears recalling that on April 22, 2025, terrorists launched a brutal assault in the Baisaran meadows of Pahalgam, killing at least 26 innocent civilians—including tourists from various parts of India and Nepal—and injuring several others. The attack, described by IFFCO as an assault on humanity, was a deliberate attempt to disrupt peace and unity in the region by targeting helpless men, women, and children.
In these challenging times, IFFCO stands as a pillar of support and unity, reinforcing its mission to serve the nation and uphold peace and security, the press release states.
