Chairman of Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), Dileep Sanghani, addressed the Sahkarita Mela–2026 held at Bangachali Khel Maidan in Tehri Garhwal, describing the event as a living symbol of the national resolve “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” (Prosperity through Cooperation).
Speaking on the sacred soil of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, Sanghani said the cooperative fair was not merely an event but a powerful reflection of the country’s renewed commitment to strengthening the cooperative movement. He congratulated the Uttarakhand Cooperation Department and all organizers for hosting the grand programme.
Highlighting recent developments, Sanghani noted that the cooperative sector in India has gained new direction and momentum under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He pointed out that the historic decision to establish a separate Ministry of Cooperation in 2021 marked a turning point in making cooperative institutions stronger, more transparent, and modern.
“The mantra of ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’ is not just a slogan but a national commitment to reinforce the economic structure of rural India,” he said, emphasizing that cooperatives play a crucial role in empowering farmers and rural communities.
Sanghani further underlined that under the guidance of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, wide-ranging reforms are being implemented. These include digitisation of cooperative societies, strengthening of multi-state cooperatives, modernization of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), and expansion of cooperatives into new sectors.
According to him, these reforms have infused fresh energy, transparency, and credibility into the cooperative movement across the country. The ongoing modernization of PACS and integration of technology are expected to enhance efficiency and improve services for farmers at the grassroots level.
The Sahkarita Mela–2026 witnessed enthusiastic participation from cooperative members, farmers, and local stakeholders, reflecting the growing awareness and engagement around cooperative-led development. The event showcased the collective spirit of cooperation and the shared vision of building a self-reliant and prosperous rural India.
Sanghani reiterated that institutions like IFFCO remain committed to strengthening the cooperative framework and supporting initiatives that advance inclusive growth.
