In a landmark move, the fertilizer giant Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) is all set to hold its 54th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 29th May 2025 at the prestigious Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, becoming the first cooperative in the country to host its AGM at this iconic venue.
The formal notice of the AGM, along with relevant documents, has already been dispatched to member delegates across India. Around 1,500 delegates from Kashmir to Kanyakumari are expected to participate in this mega event.
Speaking to Indian Cooperative, IFFCO’s General Manager (Cooperative Development) Santosh Shukla emphasized the significance of choosing Bharat Mandapam as the venue. “It’s one of the finest venues in the country, reflecting the growing strength and visibility of rural India and the cooperative movement,” he said.
The AGM is scheduled to begin at 11 AM, and preparations are in full swing to ensure a seamless and impactful experience. Over 1,000 elected representatives from IFFCO’s member cooperative societies are expected to attend, along with other dignitaries and stakeholders.
“This year’s AGM is unique not just because of the venue but also due to the multi-purpose exhibition that will run alongside the event. The exhibition will feature IFFCO’s subsidiaries and joint ventures such as IFFCO Tokio, IFFCO Kisan, CORDET, and others. Notably, two national-level multi-state cooperatives—Bharatiya Beej Sahakari Limited (BBSL) and National Cooperative Export Limited (NCEL)—have also been invited to showcase their products and services,” Shukla added.
To accommodate the large gathering, IFFCO has booked a main hall with a seating capacity of 1,000, along with additional multi-purpose halls to manage the crowd effectively.
The event will also be broadcast live, allowing a wider rural audience. IFFCO’s 35,600 member societies, to witness the proceedings and connect with the broader cooperative vision.
“This is not just an AGM, it’s a celebration of the rural cooperative spirit and a step toward strengthening the ties between cooperatives and the government,” said Shukla.
Safety protocols and official training sessions will also be part of the day’s agenda, ensuring smooth and secure conduct of the event.
With this historic AGM, IFFCO reaffirms its commitment to cooperative values while embracing innovation, inclusivity, and national pride.
During the AGM, IFFCO will also distribute the Sahakarita Ratna Award and the Sahakarita Bandhu Award to the recipients.
