HP: PACS are empowered to diversify business

The Una District Cooperative Development Federation (H.P) organized a seminar on the diversification of Primary Agriculture Societies (PACS). A large number of functionaries of cooperative societies took part in the seminar.

In his opening address, Rajinder Sharma, Director of Himcofed, Shimla & Uncofed Una welcomed guests and dignitaries and said such programmes update the knowledge and promote ideas to improve the working of societies. Such exercises are aimed to strengthen the cooperative movement, he added.

Assistant Registrar Surinder Verma mentioned the order of Registrar Himachal Pradesh under which PACS were declared multi-purpose societies. The PACs were empowered to diversify their business activities, he noted.

Block Inspector Ravinder Jaswal a key person of the district to promote the societies for diversification gave tips on how to execute the diversification in the societies. He told the procedure to execute the diversification is in the interest of societies but in doing this proper procedure is to be followed to get the consent and approval of the management of societies.

Umesh Sharma, Inspector, Circle explained to the employees of the societies to follow the norms of their service rules and perform their duties. They are supposed to ensure records of the societies are maintained.
