HARCOFED organizes youth skill development event

Haryana State Cooperative Development Federation (HARCOFED) has organized a youth skill development program at Industrial Training Institute Panchkula last week. Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies Bhiwani Satish Rohila was invited as the Chief Guest.

More than 50 students participated in the programme. Lauding the role of HARCOFED, Rohila said that skill development for the youth is an excellent means to achieve of the goal of self-employment. He urged upon the youths to participate vigorously in the Make in India program and make Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream a success.

Rohila also felt that for the state to progress there is a need to establish more cooperative societies by the people. It not only generates employment opportunities but also help in better earnings, he added.

On this occasion the organizer taught the student how to form a cooperative society, what are the Cooperative Principle, how to secure loans provided by Central Cooperative Banks. They also informed about the various activities of Harcofed.

NABARD Assistant Manager Sohanlal, who was present on the occasion, informed the youths on skill development schemes, schemes like PM Suraksha Bhima Yozana, Jeevan Jyoti Yozana, Stand up India etc. Students heard these out with rapt attention, claimed the organizers.

The Haryana State Cooperative Development Federation Ltd; popularly known as HARCOFED which recently held its AGM, came into existence in 1966 as a result of bifurcation of erstwhile State Cooperative Union of Punjab. This Institution works like a liaison agency between various Cooperative Institutions and the State Government.

HARCOFED is entrusted with the activities relating to Member Education and Training to employees as also Publicizing the activities and achievements of Cooperatives.

For the professionalization of junior level personnel of various sectors of the Cooperatives, the Federation conducts training programmes as per requirements of the concerned institutions. These courses are conducted by the A.C.E.Os with the help of officers of Cooperative Department and other Cooperative institutions.
