GeM onboarding to usher in transparency in co-ops: Amin

Inaugurating the Leadership Development Program organized by the Gujarat State Cooperative Credit Societies Federation, Ahmedabad in Goa, senior co-operators G H Amin said GeM onboarding would allow Industrial Cooperative Institutes to access large markets to sell their products. The GeM Portal would also ensure transparency in the purchases, he added.

The Gujarat State Co-operative Credit Societies Federation organizes training programs frequently for Chairmen and Managers of the credit societies. The program was organized from 9th to 12th December 2022 at Goa in order to exchange information about the co-operative activities of both states and also to undertake in – depth study of the co-operative activities being undertaken by Goa State. Around 24 Chairmen/Directors representing various credit societies of different districts of Gujarat State participated in the leadership program.

In his inaugural remarks Amin shared the detailed information about the Banking Regulation Act Amendment and its various amended provisions especially related to Cooperative Banks and Institutions. He also urged the participants to visit the co-operative institutes of Goa and make detailed study thereof, especially their members – oriented schemes and to implement those schemes, if found good and worthy of implementation, he remarked.

The inaugural function was held in the presence of Ulhas Faldesai, Chairman of Goa State Co-op Bank, Shreekant Naik, Chairman of Goa State Co-op Union, Pandurang Kurtikar, Chairman of Goa Thrift Co-op Society Association and Vice Chairman of Goa State Co-op Bank, Mandrekar, CEO of Goa State Co-op Union and Salu Bhagat, CEO of Goa Thrift Co-op Association.

S N Bhagat, CEO of Goa Thrift Co-operative Society Association expressed thanks to Gujarat State Co-operative Credit Societies Federation for choosing Goa for organizing LDP. He also showered appreciation to Amin and recalled his multiple contributions to the cooperative movement.

In his remarks as Chief Guest of the function, Ulhas Faldesai, Chairman of Goa State Co-op Bank and Vice Chairman of NAFSCUB welcomed all the Guests and all the trainees on behalf of Goa State Co-op Bank.

In his remarks as Guest of Honour, Pandurang Kurtikar said their Federation helps Employees of Cooperative Societies of Goa State right from inception to the resolution of various problems and issues related to them.

Along with the celebration of Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsav this year, there will also be celebration of Amrit Mahotsav of Amin on the completion of 75 eventful years in the service of humanity, especially in the Cooperative Sector. On this occasion, all the dignitaries and participants extended their heartiest best wishes to Amin and prayed for his sound health and long life.

As a part of LDP all the participant trainees visited Goa Thrift Co-op Society Association and other Employees Credit Cooperative Societies of Goa and had detailed information about the Insurance Schemes implemented by them and exchanged the ideas and information with each other.
