Formidable cooperator Singh is all set to become MLC

Bihar based Biscomaun Chairman Sunil Kumar Singh who always fights for the rights of cooperatives is all set to enter the Legislative Council unopposed as RJD supremo Lalu Yadav has decided to make him one of the candidates for the biennial elections to nine seats of Bihar’s Legislative council.

Sunil Kumar Singh, a familiar face in the cooperatives circles is also on the board of several national level cooperatives including Nafed, Kribhco and others. He would appear in every cooperative function organized in Delhi and is active in raising the voice of cooperatives before the government.

It is to be mentioned that Singh is close to the RJD Supremo.

Talking to Indian Cooperative on the development Singh said, “Yes, I am entering into politics to fight for the rights of the cooperative sector which is being neglected by all the political parties. I have seen there are only a few people in government who understand this sector which works for the welfare of the downtrodden people”.

Meanwhile, Singh vows to raise his voice in the interest of cooperatives in the Bihar Legislative Council. “In 2012, Rashtriya Janata Dal had offered me a ministerial post but I had not accepted due to several reasons. Even in Rajya Sabha election RJD Supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi put their stamp of approval on my name but due to the last minute political manipulation I could not become a member of Rajya Sabha”, he said to this correspondent on the phone.

Several close associates of Sunil are happy with the news. “If in the Bihar legislative Assembly elections RJD and Congress come into power then we are sure that Biscomaun Chairman Sunil Kumar Singh will get the ministerial post”, said one of his close friends.

RJD said the candidature of Biscomaun chairman Sunil Singh, Rambali Singh and Farooq Sheikh, a native of Sheohar who is currently in the real estate business in Mumbai, is almost final.
