DCCBs in news: Shivraj removes Congress-appointed Chairmen
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The change of the Guard in Madhya Pradesh has meant suspending all the administrators appointed by the congress government in District Central Cooperative Bank of the state.

The Shivraj Singh Chauhan government has recently issued the notification for the removal of all congress leaders appointed as administrators in DCCBs of the state. The Cooperative Department had sent a list of administrators appointed in all banks to the Chief Minister’s Office.

Now, District Deputy Registrar Cooperatives has been made as the administrator in these banks.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Cooperative Commissioner Dr. MK Agarwal has removed the non-government administrators and appointed the officers of the cooperative department as administrators in these banks.

There is news that the Madhya Pradesh government has scrapped the appointment of Congress leader Shobha Oza as the chairperson of the MP Women’s Commission with immediate effect.

“Under the MP State Commission for Women Act, 1995, the department appointed Shobha Oza as the chairperson on March 16. The new state government cancels the appointment with immediate effect,” read the letter issued by the women and child development department.

Sources say Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has taken a prompt and a principled decision to cancel all political appointments made by the Kamal Nath government. The Congress government had started to accommodate its leaders in cooperative banks by appointing Congress leader like Ashok Singh from Gwalior as administrator in Apex (State Cooperative) Bank.

It is learnt that leaders appointed in district cooperative central banks are the supporters of Kamal Nath, Digvijay Singh and former cooperative minister Dr. Govind Singh. Subhash Shukla was made the administrator of the Bhopal District Cooperative Central Bank. Similarly, politicians were appointed as administrators in Raisen, Dewas and Khargone but they bickered among themselves and could not take charge.

Officials close to the Chief Minister said that a principled decision has been taken to cancel all the appointments made on political considerations. It also includes appointments made in cooperatives.

The fall of Kamal Nath government in Madhya Pradesh has raised a hope among cooperators that the process of election of cooperatives will be restarted.

It is to be noted that there are 38 DCCBs in Madhya Pradesh. There are over 4800 PACCS in the state.
