Like in the previous year, more than six cooperatives societies in the Amreli district of Gujarat held their Annual General Meetings jointly in the premises of AMR Dairy on Monday. The AGMs saw an unprecedented turnout. The joint holding of AGMs not only help each coo-op cut the cost but also is a boon for members who are saved from the hassle of multiple travelling.
Several announcements were made during the meeting in the interest of farmers and members associated with co-ops. “We have decided to do the insurance of over 4 lakh members and account holders associated with Amreli District Central Cooperative Bank under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY). The premium will be borne by the bank”, said Amreli DCCB Chairman Dileep Sanghani who is also the NCUI President.
In his speech, Sanghani urged farmers to use the latest technology of Nano Urea developed by IFFCO in their yields. The results of Nano Urea are enthusiastic. Earlier, Sanghani saw the spraying of the Nano Urea through a drone in the fields of farmers in Amreli.
Talking to the Indian Cooperative, Sanghani further added that the AMR dairy is giving the final shape to India’s largest honey plant which is being set up at the premises of the dairy. This will help in fulfilling the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in ushering in the sweet revolution.
Around 1500 participants were drawn from several cooperative bodies such as district central co-op banks, dairy co-ops, district cooperative unions, Gujarat Mahila Credit co-ops and other cooperative institutions.
Keeping in view the safety and physical distance protocols, only key persons were present at the spot and the rest including members and others were connected through video conferencing.
Big video screens were set up in 9 Taluka of Amreli District for seeing the proceedings of the meeting. The event was also live streamed on Facebook and YouTube.
Besides Sanghani, District BJP President Kaushikbhai Vekaria, MP Naranbhai Kachhadia, AMAR Dairy President Ashwinbhai Savalia, President of Amreli District Purchase Selling Association Jayantibhai Pansuriya and other cooperative leaders of Amreli District were present.
