Co-operators celebrate Yoga Day at home; greet followers

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and leading co-operators like NCUI Chairman Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi, Nafscob Chairman Dileep Sanghani and other co-operators across the country lined up to celebrate 21st June as International Yoga Day.

Due to covid-19 instead of going outside the home several co-operators did yoga at their respective residences.

June 21 has been celebrated globally as the International Day of Yoga. However, this International Yoga Day was celebrated quite differently than the previous years. Keeping the COVID-19 pandemic in mind, people have been asked to celebrate Yoga Day indoors and the theme for the sixth edition of International Yoga Day is, ‘Yoga at Home and Yoga with Family’.

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar did yoga at his residence. “Today, on the occasion of International Yoga Day, staying at home did yoga. Yoga increases the immunity of our body. Do yoga – stay healthy”, he wrote on social media.

NCUI Chairman Chandra Pal Singh Yadav also celebrated the International Yoga Day and shared the pictures through social media. ” Wish you good health and best wishes for International Yoga Day”, he wrote on Facebook.

Early in the morning on Sunday IFFCO MD reminded his followers to do Yoga and inspired them by tweeting, “Heartiest & Healthy Greetings of International Yoga Day. Yoga keeps us active & fresh; physically as well as mentally. It’s an art, science & perfect combination of wellness, fitness & internal spirituality. Stay Fit & Healthy.”

Nafscob Chairman Dileep Sanghani also celebrated the International Yoga day with full enthusiasm at his home in Gujarat. He has also shared photos through social media. He wrote, “International Yoga Day 2020. Yoga means addition of energy, strength, and beauty to body, mind, and soul. Best wishes to everyone on the occasion of International Yoga Day”.

Amul social media wrote on their twitter wall, “If health is lost, something very important is lost’ is a true saying. The entire world celebrates yoga today, which originated in our country. Let us practice yoga daily which is the key to our health and happiness. Happy #Internationalyogaday2020”.

Indian cooperative has received scores of mails related to the International Yoga Day from cooperative institutions with photographs from across the country.
