Co-operative is primarily for farmers: Kundaria
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Several of you are here in the brainstorming session and what conclusions you arrive at may directly help farmers increase their farm-produce, said Union Minister of State for Agriculture Mohanbhai Kalyanjibhai Kundaria

Kundaria was giving a short but effective presidential speech at the inauguration of Train the Trainer (TTT) progrmamme by NCCT-the training arm of the apex national cooperative body NCUI in N Delhi on Monday. NCUI’s Chief Executive Dr Dinesh, NCCT Secretary Mr Mohan Mishra and other top officials were present in strength on the occasion.

About 20 Faculty Members altogether representing different RICMs/ICMs across the country are taking part in themohan-kundaria-dinesh Programme. The Programme is being conducted by the Indian Society for Training and Development Delhi Chapter and Training requirement & New Concept (TRANC).

Recounting the steps initiated by the NDA government soon after assuming office Kundaria said ”the govt is contemplating bringing about such changes in the existing cooperative laws as would ensure quick and direct benefit to the farmers. I am a farmer myself and I think cooperative is for farmers and vice-versa”, he added.

Emphasizing the importance his govt puts on cooperatives Kundaria said “we exceeded our target in 2014-15 in Dr Nanditesh Nilayholding cooperative meetings which was pegged at 40 thousand but reached a whopping  figure of 74 thousand. Similarly, campaign for enlisting members in the cooperative movement saw phenomenal rise.

Dr Nanditesh Nilay- the master trainer who has convincing streak in his voice said that for any training to be successful , communication has to be two-sided. He asked the assembled faculties of RICM and ICM to participate proactively and promised them that at the end of the training they would certainly carry some fond memories from here.

Dr Dinesh, Chief Executive of NCUI and Director-General of NCCT said in order to be competitive we have to knowDr Dinesh how to adapt to fast changing times. Change is the only constant factor, he added. He thanked the Minister for gracing the function on a short-notice.

Mohan Mishra, Secretary of NCCT and the architect of the show welcomed the Minister and presented a brief introduction. Expounding the merit of TTT, Mishra called upon the participants to make the most of this opportunity of a life-time. His speech was greeted with cheers when he spoke a couple of lines in Gujarati thanking the Minister.

He also highlighted the important issues being faced by the NCCT in respect of manpower, paucity of fund, and infrastructure and career growth of employees.  He hoped that the TTT will give ample opportunity to the trainers in delivering quality training to the target group.

Dr R Ranjan Devi proposed a vote of thanks.
