With its increasing stress on co-operative training, the Cooperative lender National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) has signed an MoU with Telangana State Veterinary University on Wednesday in Hyderabad.
While Managing Director of NCDC Sundeep Nayak was the signatory from NCDC, the Vice Chancellor of Telangana State Veterinary University signed on behalf of the university. The Chief Secretary Telangana was also present in the singing in ceremony.
The MoU aims at collaboration in training, research and innovative processes in the cooperative sector. As reported earlier in these columns, NCDC is aiming to focus on training cooperatives and cooperators. It has put emphasis on teaching the fundamental principles of managing a cooperative.
Expanding its training capacity besides LINAC, NCDC is going to have five more training centers sooner than later. Its regional offices located in Kolkata, Bhuvneshwar, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Gandhinagar are being made to spare space for conducting co-op training programs as well.
Sharing details NCDC MD Nayak says “all productions would be home-made and the experience of the officers of NCDC who have put in many years of service in the co-operative sector would be exploited here.” Making You-tube 3 minute videos on different aspects of co-op training is no big deal, said a confident MD.
Emphasizing on the power of local languages in reaching out to cooperators in remote areas, MD said ” we do not need language experts for it as there are people working with NCDC who belong to different states with mastery over their native language; a mapping has already been done”, he informed.
NCDC recently called its Regional Directors and staff-members in Delhi to brainstorm the issue of co-op training. Satish Marathe, senior cooperator was present on the occasion.
