CMs & LGs; Ministers & Co-operators join Co-op Week celebrations

Cooperatives across the country- from north to south and from the east to west–celebrated the 69th All India Cooperative Week with full enthusiasm and a series of events were organized to mark the day one of a weeklong celebration.

The apex body of cooperatives-NCUI organized a glittering function at its headquarters in the presence of Union Minister of State for Cooperation BL Verma. A few state Chief Ministers also participated in the event organized on this occasion.

While congratulating the nation and fellow cooperators, IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi wrote, “Congratulations for the National #Cooperative week. #Coops across the nation will celebrate this entire week by talking about success & its path for #SahkarSeSamriddhi for the nation. Coops empower people & builds communities for a better world”.

Extending the wishes, Kribhco official twitter handle wrote, “Best wishes to the entire cooperative fraternity on the occasion of All India Cooperative Week”.

NCUI Chairman Dileep Sanghani participated in the event organized at the AMAR Dairy, Amreli where co-operators from across the district had gathered. Co-op flag was unfurled on the occasion.

On the occasion, NAFSCOB Chairman Ravinder Rao stressed the need for cooperatives to adopt new technologies and ways to compete in the competitive world. Rao was celebrating the event at Karimnagar DCCB.

Pune based Vamnicom organized an event in the presence of Deepak Taware, IAS, Chairman and Managing Director, Maharashtra State Warehousing Corporation at the Inauguration of Cooptex Exhibition at VAMNICOM as a part of the 69th All India Cooperative Week Celebrations.

The news of celebrations from different states and UTs were pouring in at the desk of Indian Cooperative. LG Manoj Sinha inaugurated the 69th Cooperative Week Celebrations in Jammu and said, “ the Jan-Andolan for promotion of social-enterprises, its values & principles to establish equality, equity and solidarity are pivotal for bringing socio-economic development for an inclusive growth in rural J&K”.

In Karnataka, the state Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai attended the event, organized at Kalaburagi and distributed interest free loan cheques to beneficiaries. Mr. Bommai distributed the Yashaswini cards to the farmers. Around 13 persons were conferred with ‘Sahakari Ratna’ award on the occasion.

In Goa, the state cooperation Minister Subhash Shirodkar felicitated cooperators for their outstanding performance in the cooperative sector. On the theme-“Ease of Doing Business for Cooperatives, GeM and Export Promotion ” at Shiroda- Goa. The Minister also launched Shiroda as the first Sahakar Gram of Goa during the function.

In West Bengal, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikar observed the first day of the 69th All India Cooperative Week and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for creating a separate ministry for cooperation. On the occasion, he counted several schemes of the Modi government launched in the interest of co-ops as well as farmers.

In Manipur, Cabinet Minister Nemcha Kipgen inaugurated the event at Cooperative Complex, under the theme “India @75 : Growth of Cooperatives and Future Ahead.” Organized by Manipur State Cooperative Union & Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Manipur.

In Gujarat, the state cooperative Union Chairman G H Amin kicked off the celebrations of All India Cooperative Week by hoisting the cooperative flag at the office premises of GSCU.

In Uttar Pradesh, the state cooperative Minister JPS Rathore participated in the event organized at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow where state deputy chief minister Brijesh Pathak was the chief guest. Uttar Pradesh State Construction Cooperative Federation organized the event.

In Assam, State Cooperative Union and MLA Biswajit Phukan participated in an event and attended the inauguration of a mobile ATM at Sarupathar.

In Uttarakhand, Udhamsingh Nagar DCCB also joined in the celebrations and its General Manager Charan Singh hoisted the cooperative flag.
