CM inaugurates projects in Banaskantha; hails co-op contributions

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel emphasized the significance of the cooperative sector in bolstering the rural economy while speaking at an event in Deodar village where he inaugurated projects for Banas Dairy and Banas Bank. Patel said, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, cooperatives would play a pivotal role in propelling India to become the world’s third-largest economy.

Bhupendra Patel inaugurated various development projects focusing on cooperation between cooperative societies at Banaskantha, Gujarat on Monday.

Patel also launched RUPAY Kisan Credit Card, Micro ATM in Banaskantha, Gujarat and addressed the gathering of 50,000 people, including members of Banas Dairy, Banaskantha District Cooperative Bank, PACS, milk societies, APMC and other cooperative entities, along with large-scale women milk producers.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shah was supposed to inaugurate various development projects focusing on cooperation between cooperative societies but due to his elder sister Rajeshwariben Shah’s death, he cancelled all his engagements in Gujarat.

Meanwhile, tweeting about the event, Patel wrote on ‘X’, “Today at Deodar, Banaskantha, in the presence of the leaders of the cooperation sector including the Speaker of Gujarat Legislative Assembly and Banas Dairy Chairman Shankarbhai Chowdhary and fellow Ministers, got an opportunity to interact with the farmers during the inauguration of various projects of Banas Dairy and Banas Bank”.

On this occasion, micro ATM cards were presented to cooperative societies of Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat districts and Rupay KCC cards to farmers. Organic products of Banas Dairy were also launched.

He further added, that under the visionary leadership of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amitbhai Shah, not a single rupee of cooperatives is going elsewhere and it is being used for the public welfare through cooperatives.

Gujarat Cooperation Minister Jagdish Vishwakarma said that the Banas dairy is doing wonders as far as the dairy cooperative sector is concerned and the collection of 1 crore litre milk daily is historical. The role of women in taking the Banas Dairy to newer heights is commendable.

He also remembered the role of Tribhuvandas Patel, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and others in the cooperative sector.

Gujarat Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker and Panchmahal Dairy Chairman Jethabhai Bharwad, Gujarat State Cooperative Bank Chairman Ajaybhai Patel, GCMMF Chairman Shamal Patel, MD Jayen Mehta, Banaskantha DCCB Chairman Savsibhai S Chaudhary, Nabard Chairman K V Shaji, Union Ministry of Cooperation Secretary Gyanesh Kumar and others were present.
