Chocolate co-op CAMPCO wins GOI award

The Chocolate co-operative body CAMPCO has bagged a prestigious award bestowed on it by the Federation of Indian Export Organizations-Southern Region set up by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India.

The award ceremony was held at Hotel Le Royal Meridien, Guindy in Chennai last week. The Campco bagged the FIEO Regional Export Award for the year 2016-17 under the category of Top Multi Product Group Exporter in Southern Region (Silver).

S R Satishchandra, President, CAMPCO received the Award from Mr Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President of India in the presence of Governor of Tamilnadu Banwarilal Purohit, P Balakrishna Reddy, Minister for Youth Welfare & Sports Development, Govt. of Tamilnadu and several senior officials of FIEO were also present on the occasion.

 The CAMPCO Chocolate Factory with its modern technology brings out healthy Chocolates and Industrial Products to the utmost taste of its Consumers, claims a press release from the co-op body. “It has tickled the taste buds of people not only in India but also in foreign countries”, the release adds. .

Last year the Campco exported 1,324 MTs of Drinking Chocolate to African Countries. It has received the Award for the fourth time, according to a press release sent by the cooperative.

The Award is a proud moment for the CAMPCO and a recognition of the importance of the Swadeshi Factory, the president of CAMPCO S R Satishchandra said.

Recently CAMPCO got its new Amenity Block at Kemminje, Puttur, Dakshina Kannada inaugurated by the Union Minister for Commerce & Industries Suresh Prabhu. Prabhu disclosed GOI plan for farm-export in a big way during the function, which was widely covered by the media.
