Bihar DCCBs disburse Rs 54 crores in KCC Camp; RoC participates

During the Kisan Credit Card Mega Camp organized recently in Bihar, more than 23 cooperative banks of the State got busy disbursing around Rs 54 crore to more than 18,000 farmers.

The camp was organized in different banks in virtual mode by the Bihar Registrar of Cooperative Societies Bandana Preyashi. She physically participated in the function of Patliputra District Central Cooperative Bank.

Patliputra DCCB through its 20 branches disbursed Rs 4.77 crore to 1509 farmers. Preyasi also gave KCC and Rupay cards to 20 farmers on the occasion.

Sharing the news through social media, Preyashi wrote, ” District Central Cooperative #Banks @DeptCooperative #Bihar organized mega camps on 25.06.21 for renewal & sanction of #KCC. ?55cr loan amount benefitting 18130 #farmers in one day.77000 farmers & Rs 215cr so far in this financial year”.

Besides, the cooperative department is leaving no stone unturned to expedite the process of computerization of Bihar PACCs. So far, the audit of 6,000 PACCs has been over and the cooperative department has been directed to complete the audit of the remaining process by the end of the current financial year so that the process of implementation of the computerization process can be started.

It is being reported that over 4.35 lakh will be spent on the computerization of each PACC. This plan is to be completed in three years. With this, all income-expenditure loans will be made online.

Recently, the Union Cooperative Secretary DK Singh also visited co-ops of Bihar and took stock of the situation.

Readers would recall that to carry out the computerization of Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies (PACS), the government has made the highest allocation of Rs 350 crore in the Union Budget presented by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

This scheme aims at the computerization of 63,000 functional PCAS, leading to an increase in its efficiency, profitability, transparency, and accountability.
