(On the occasion of New Financial Year the Managing Director of largest farmers’ cooperative IFFCO Dr U S Awasthi has written to his team, detailing the roller coaster journey and the challenges ahead. We reproduce the same-Editor)
Dear friends,
At the outset I would like to wish you all a vey prosperous financial year 2015-2016.
Financial year 2014-2015 was a mixed bag for IFFCO. The year gave a lot of reasons to cheer about but there were instances that tested our patience and capabilities. I am proud to mention that in the end our efforts triumphed over everything and the results are there for all to see.
I am happy to announce that in FY 2014-2015 we expect a turnover of around Rs 24700 Crore with a profit before tax of about Rs 1036 Crore.
On the production font, our state of the art plants managed to produce 41.3 Lakh MT of Urea, 33.3 Lakh MT of complex fertilizers with a total production of around 75 Lakh MT. While we were able to sell about 71.5 Lakh MT of Urea and about 39.5 Lakh MT of complex fertilsers, totaling an impressive 111 Lakh MT as the totals sale of fertilizers.
Given the domestic and global economic scenario and the policy framework where we operate in, these figures are truly impressive and each one of you should definitely be proud of yourself as professionals and as dedicated employee of this great farmer institution.
This impressive performance should motivate us to set even bigger benchmarks for ourselves. So that together we truly make a difference in the life of the humble farmer who has enshrined his faith in IFFCO.
Friends, the future belongs to people who can fuse the old school with the new school, amalgamate modern with the traditional and in the process challenging conventional with something truly ground breaking at regular instances.
Organizations across the world see this as the order of the day and we are no exception. Therefore I would urge each one of you to actively come up with innovative ideas & suggestions of improvement in your respective area of operation. Share and brainstorm this with your peers who are separated by geographical, culture and even intellectual barriers come up with something truly ground breaking. You can do this by leveraging the tools of technology like social media and cloud computing along with the tools provided to you all by IFFCO.
Once we start the virtual brainstorming and create a virtual community that exudes positiveness around IFFCO, even on the internet you would slowly see this four decade old organization catapulting itself into the 21st century with extreme aplomb and ease.
