About 250 workers of Pradeshik Cooperative Dairy Federation (PCDF) that sells milk under the brand Parag are boycotting work in Kanpur in protest against non-payment of salary for the past 10 months.
The workers are also protesting the cooperative not depositing money in workers Provident Fund (PF) and ESI scheme for the last 20 months, PCDF Kanpur unit Workers Union President Brajesh Mishra said.
PCDF is the only public sector dairy cooperative in Uttar Pradesh which supplies milk in the state.
In Kanpur alone it sells 27,000 litres of milk every day. Mishra said workers are boycotting work since August 1.
